Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Yarn Passion ("we", "our", or "the game") is developed by Sefa Öztürkmen. This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you play Yarn Passion on your device, and why. The short version: there are no accounts. The game is free to play and shows ads served by Google AdMob; where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first, and you can change your choices at any time. We use Google Firebase Analytics to see how the game is played. Real-money purchases go through Apple or Google, and coins earned or bought are spent inside the game. Your progress can be kept in your own iCloud account or Google backup. By installing or playing Yarn Passion, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We do not ask for, collect or store your name, e-mail address, phone number, contacts or photos. There is no login, no user account and no server operated by us that holds your data. The third-party services described below (advertising, analytics, the app stores) process some device and usage data on our behalf or under their own policies.

2.1 Information Stored on Your Device

The game saves your progress locally on your device so you can continue where you left off:

  • Level progress and the toys in your collection
  • Coins, boosters, lives and the daily gift streak
  • Purchases that unlock something permanently, such as the No Ads Bundle
  • How many rewarded videos you watched today (daily limits)
  • Settings such as language, sound, music, vibration and your analytics choice

2.2 Cloud Backup of Your Progress

On iOS the same progress data is also copied to iCloud key-value storage, so it follows you to a new iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. On Android the save file is included in Android's automatic backup to your Google Account, so it comes back when you reinstall the game or set up a new phone. These backups belong to your Apple or Google Account and are operated by Apple or Google under their privacy policies; we cannot read them. If iCloud or Android backup is turned off, the data simply stays on the device.

2.3 Advertising (Google AdMob)

Yarn Passion is free to play and is funded by ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). The game shows a banner at the bottom of the level screen, a full-screen ad between some levels, and rewarded videos that you choose to watch for an in-game reward (an extra hole, more coins, a life). To deliver, measure and protect these ads, Google may process:

  • Device identifiers: the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking; Advertising ID on Android) and Google's own app-instance identifiers
  • Your IP address and the approximate location derived from it (country or city level, never precise GPS location)
  • Device and app information such as model, operating system, language, screen size and app version
  • Ad interactions such as ads shown, clicked or watched to the end, and the rewards earned
  • Diagnostic, performance and crash data of the ads SDK

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form (IAB Transparency & Consent Framework) is shown at first launch before any personalised ads; you can change your choices at any time in Settings → Privacy choices. On iOS, the game asks for permission to track through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, the advertising identifier is not used and ads are less personalised. On Android you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Google's use of this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

2.4 Analytics (Google Firebase)

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the game is played so we can improve it - for example which levels are too hard, where players stop, which rewarded offers are used and whether purchases complete. Firebase may process:

  • Game events such as level started, won or failed, booster used, coins spent, ad watched, shop opened and purchase completed
  • A random app-instance identifier created by Firebase, which resets if you reinstall the game
  • Device model, operating system version, app version, language and approximate country (derived from your IP address, which Google does not store as such)
  • Session information such as when the game was opened and for how long

Analytics is kept apart from advertising: Firebase's advertising storage, ad user data and ad personalisation are switched off, and analytics never reads the advertising identifier. Where the GDPR applies, analytics only starts if you agree on the consent form at first launch. Everywhere, you can turn it off in Settings → Share usage data.

2.5 In-App Purchases and In-Game Coins

Real-money purchases (coin packs, bundles, the Starter Pack, the No Ads Bundle) are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store on iOS and by Google through Google Play on Android. We never see or store your payment details; the game only receives a confirmation from the store so it can deliver what you bought. Coins - earned by playing, from the daily gift, from rewarded videos or bought - are spent inside the game on boosters, lives and unlocking boxes; these coin purchases stay on your device and involve no personal data.

2.6 Notifications

If you allow notifications (iOS, and Android 13 or later, ask you first), the game schedules reminders - for example when your lives are full or your daily gift is ready - directly on your device. They are not sent from a server and no push token is collected. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

2.7 Information Collected by the App Stores

Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) handle the distribution, installation and updating of the game and may collect installation events and crash reports under their own privacy policies. We receive only aggregated statistics through their developer consoles.

3. How Information Is Used

The information described above is used to:

  • Run the game and restore your progress, coins and collection
  • Show ads, pay out rewarded videos, limit how often ads appear, and measure and protect ads against fraud
  • Personalise ads, only where you consented or allowed tracking
  • Deliver and restore purchases
  • Remind you about full lives and daily gifts, if you allowed notifications
  • Measure, in aggregate, how the game is played so levels, balance and the shop can be improved

We do not sell your personal data and we do not build profiles of players ourselves.

4. Third-Party Services

The game uses the following third parties:

Google Firebase AnalyticsUsage statisticspolicies.google.com/privacy
Apple App StoreDistribution, updates and in-app purchases (iOS)apple.com/legal/privacy

Google AdMob is the only advertising network in Yarn Passion at this time. If another one is added, this page will be updated first.

5. Data Retention

Data on your device stays until you delete the game. Data in iCloud or in your Android backup stays in your Apple or Google Account until you remove it there. Firebase analytics events are kept by Google for at most 14 months and are then deleted automatically. Advertising data is kept by Google according to its own retention policies.

6. Children's Privacy

Yarn Passion is suitable for general audiences but is not directed at children under 13, and it shows ads. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game has no chat, no user-generated content and no accounts. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child's information has reached us, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Security

Game data is protected by your device's operating system and, for iCloud, by your Apple Account. Advertising and analytics data are transmitted to Google over encrypted connections. No system is completely secure, but because we hold no personal data on our own servers, there is no database of ours that could be breached.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Data protection laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights over your personal data, including access, correction, deletion and objection. You can:

  • Change your advertising consent at any time in Settings → Privacy choices (where the consent form applies)
  • Allow or deny tracking on iOS in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
  • Reset or delete your Advertising ID on Android in Settings → Google → Ads
  • Remove banner and between-level ads with the No Ads Bundle (rewarded videos stay optional)
  • Turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Share usage data
  • Turn notifications off in your device settings
  • Stop iCloud sync or Android backup in your device settings, and delete those copies from your Apple or Google Account
  • Delete the game to erase all data stored on the device
  • Contact us with any request about your data; for data processed by Google you can also use Google's own controls

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time - for example when a new feature such as leaderboards is added. This page will be updated before the change ships, along with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the game after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
